It sounds like you are getting well prepared. Have you sourced an oven large enough to fit the case? When you get to the point of measuring back lash between the new R & P, if you can't come up with something similar to the factory tool, I'll lend you the one I made (see the photos of measuring back lash in my link).

Hey Mike! Thanks for your offer!
Yeah, I have a small oven for gears and a hot plate that I just bought this past week because yall told me to. As far as an oven to heat the entire case....not really. I mean I have our oven thats cooks our foods, but not one that I can plop a tranny in. Haha.
Ill probably just buy one for our shop from sears and replace our kitchen one with it, taking that one to use in the shop. I could also keep the oven door open to heat up the shop in that area too.
I was also refered to a business online that sells Porsche factory transmission tools and would like to share it with you guys.... http://www.zelenda.com/
I missed your link. That would be great information! Where is it again?
Thanks again!

page 3 about midway down shows the backlash measurement set up. I believe a normal sized (36 inch wide) home oven would be large enough to fit the case. I know Markus Blazak (http://www.blaszakprecision.com/) does rebuilds for racing 944 trannies and uses steel synchros so he's a possible source. I guess if you've got a lot of money you can afford the factory trans tools.....
