Engine mount question
I ordered some engine mounts for my 944S from Pelican, and naturally
I ordered the "original Porsche" version. I received the mounts, but
they actually have the part numbers for both the "original Porsche" and
"aftermarket" versions on the boxes.
Does anyone know if the original ones (or their boxes) have any
distinguishing characteristics? Who manufactures the original ones?
I'd hate to spend the time installing them only to find out that I've
got the bad ones.
Thanks - John

I ordered the original ones, and of course, got the replicas in these blue boxes. The replicas did not fit into the crossmember because the little stubbie on top of the replica motor mounts are to round, and not squared off properly. So I went back to the dealer and the ordered the OEM mounts, which came in the tell tale OEM "grey with red "Porsche" script all over" box.

There ought to be a law where the part is permanently stamped either OE (Porsche) or OEM (Aftermarket). I really wonder how many of us have gotten bogus OE motor mounts over the years without knowing for sure. I thought the good ones had a small solder joint between the stud and case. I noticed this on a set out in the shed in Porsche boxes.
