Default Where to jack and block to remove 4 wheels?

I need to remove all 4 wheels at one time to get them refinished. Where is the best/correct place to jack on a 944? Do I use the jack point, jack up one side, block it, then jack the other side? Also, where is the best place to put the stands? I only have 2 jack stands, can I just use wood blocks under the axle? I just want to be sure I don't do any damage during this process. Thanks.

Look just inside the rocker behind the front wheels and infront of the rears. There is a rubber pad behind the front ones - use that. ON the back, you see a small rectangle of steel - use that. These are both right along the bottom edge fo teh body panel. I did this a few weeks ago and it worked great!

There is also a write-up on clarks garage.

Be very very careful. This was one of the scarier things I have done on the car. Left side on jackstands, center jacking the whole right side is a nailbiter to say the least.

Just as scary getting it down.

For my early I used the front 'backup' jackstand points placing them just on the other side of the control arm bushing (towards center on beam).

Thanks for all the info. Supposedly my neighbor is getting a hoist installed in his garage, maybe I'll wait for that.

The trick is to bring it down super slow and move the jack stands at the last 1/4 inch of clearance to make sure there are 100% where you want them. Just do everything slow.

And don't crush any brake lines!
