All items are from a 88 Turbo-S, and assume that it would need painted to match receiving car.

I picked up a fire roasted 88-TS and a front clip and am trying to figure out what to do with it.

Should I cleanup the burnt chassis add the front clip parts and turn it into a race car or part it all out?
No drivetrain or brakes but pretty much everything else is there.

Does a severe engine fire corrupt the frames rigidity?

 

What you do with it should depend on what you paid for it....I say fix it and turn it into a track car, there are just too many older Pcars out there being parted out

 

88ts has the exact front end pieces as any other 951. If your car is not salvage titled and not so toasted to the point the metal is altered, build it because the car is worth something. I got a 87 burnt 951 right now and just sold my 86 engine burn. Both are going to be rebuilt. Post some pictures then we can get a better idea.

This one is not worth fixing. Hacker, I have bought burnt turbos that barely scorched the paint under the hood and fried the wiring. Those ARE perfect for building a track car since you have to take everything off the top of the motor but nothing else. This one is different. The fire got very hot and the suspension/crossmember are not from that car. With a fire that hot, it would have melted the wheels when the tires caught on fire and collapsed the springs. All the spot welds are probably no good along with the metal up in front since it got hot enough to melt the alum rivets at the hood latch. Part the car out. Its my opinion that chassis will not be safe to use especially for track.

I find it interesting that all the damaged/burned/destroyed 944's that are found are considered the best candidate for a track car. I'd want the best possbile example to run at 100% around a race track. Doing 70mph on the highway doesn't take anything special. Doing 150mph into turn 1 at RA is a different story.

About 1k to 1,500 sounds reasonable for a 951 conversion "kit." Depending on the condition of panels and spoiler of course.

 

Assuming the parts are in good to excellent shape, here is a breakdown of the normal selling prices I see for the parts:

front bumper = $450ish
aluminum bumper support = $150
bumper shocks = $50
headlight covers = $40
front fenders = $400 (for the pair)
batwing = $150
foglights = $150 (pair)
turn signals = $75
side marker lights = $40
Front header panel = $150
Rear valance = $200

Total = $1855

These are prices for nice parts, not ones that need a lot of work. All wiring plugs and ends should be supplied as they are needed for someone going from a 944 to a 951 light system.

Given that it is a package deal, around $1500 would be a nice price for the entire package. If you have to split things up, ask for the prices above.

Thanks!! That's exactly what I was after. The bumper had a poor quality respray at some point and is flaking off, one of the foglights is cracked and the other has an interior chip, but the rest of the components are in good shape. I also have the lighting wiring to go with.

batwing = $100 has crack that was fixed with epoxy
foglights = $50 (pair)chipped/cracked
turn signals = $70
side marker lights = $40
Front header panel = $100 has a couple of deep chips needs a (very)tiny bit of bondo
Rear valance = $200
light system wiring=free with above package
I want to sell as a package, I have shown individual pricing to show how I came up with the price.
$1400 + shipping for the whole lot, I should be able to ship everything for under $200 within the USA.

I can sure check. I'll assume that it won't be much more for the shipping part, but wouldn't you have to arrange for a broker and pay some sort of duty/tax?
