944/968 conv starter/wiring/throttle question

944/968 conv starter/wiring/throttle question
Hey guys....
Im in the mittle of finishing the 968 mod Im doing on my '83 N/A. I have a couple different questions....
First, the wrecking yard sent me the starter for a 968, however Im using a S2 flywheel with my stock 944 1 - piece bell housing. The 968 starter wont work at all. Can I use my stock '83 944's starter with the S2 flywheel?
Second, I have a question as to what the heck this wire connection goes to (see picture). The terminal block is the one next to the brake booster.
Third, How the heck am I going to rig the throttle cable? The stock '83 throttle cable is too short. If I buy a length of cable, how much tension would I want to put on the throttle?

I only helped out with my engine swap, so I don't have the complete details. But here are some info:
The 968 starter won't work because of the bell housing (in fact, the 968 even uses a different flywheel lock.) I am currently using a 87 944 starter with an S2 flywheel in an 87 bell housing. (Bosch 39X -- earlier cars might still be using Bosch 26X, which is different, but I don't know how).
No idea on that wire.
My throttle reached fine (again, there might be some differences in late/early 944s -- check with PET?). But the routing of the cable looks different:
