Default Where does this 951 part go?

Hey Guys,
I am had a black plastic hose that I have delayed putting back on my car and now I can not figure out how it fits. I am not sure exactly what it does, but it seems that it is a cold air intake for the turbo? Attached is a picture of the part and it also had a flexible pipe attached to it as well. If anyone could tell me, or better yet show me with a picture how this is supposed to attach, I would be VERY grateful. Thanks!

It's actually the cooling pipe for the ALTERNATOR, not the turbo.

Rich, how exactly does it go? Do you think it is essential? Where does the other end come out? I have a 91 S2 with an 86 951 engine in it, and if I remember correctly, when I tried to put it on, the chasis was different.

PET says the 91 S2 and 86 951 have the same part number for the cooling tube. Thus it should fit in both chassis.

I'll do a screen grab from the PET in a minute

yes, it is important! you will cook your alternator and shorten the life without that cooling duct.

As an alternative, you could purchase a longer flex-pipe hose and route it whatever way you want, as long as it attaches to the alternator shroud, and it has a good inflow of fresh air.

That's what I'm doing with mine..

Rich,
Thanks alot for the info and the picture. If I can not put it in tomorrow I will go with the flex-pipe idea. Thanks again!

There is a black plastic pipe, similar looking to the one on the alternator that the other end attaches to. It is on the bottom of the car, on the left side, sort of below and to the left of the alternator if I remember correctly.

Default Where Is the Master Key code?

I noticed when I got the keys to the 951- the key looked like a valet key. I'm not sure- but it starts the car, opens the gas cap, and locks the glovebox, and trunk. The doors cannot unlock using this key? New door handles? I dunno.

Where is the key code located? How can I tell the door handles are replaced? Only the passenger side handle has the PORSCHE stamping on it. Both side lock tabs appear to be linked to the locking cam rods also.
