how to break into a locked 944

I hate to do this....but here is what I found that worked best:
Blade-type feeler guages
I know most of us wont have that item, when needed the most. But, they are shaped like the original key, and combining 2-3 blades will open the passenger door, if used like the key itself. Remember-
You never heard this from me!

If you have a friend with VW's (the older ones), try their key in your car. Only insert the key around 1/2 way or so, the lock will open like it's with your key. The ignition doesn't work the same way, so his key can't start your car.
It was a shocking revelation to me about 8 years ago when my cousin played around with his key and managed to open up my door. Ever since then, I got an alarm.
This trick has saved me and other 944'ers I know many times. We usually flag down the closest VW to borrow their key.

USUALLY, people refer this matter to PM's only !!! for the fact that thiefs can search the boards...
Some may wish to " EDIT " the posts once info has been relayed..
Just my $.02

(edit) I would imagine if someone was looking for specific info on Porsche systems they would look here) like how to bypass an active alarm so car will start, the LP trick etc....

One time about a week after I bought my 944, I was a little stupid in the morning, and inserted my subaru key into the door lock. To my utter amazement, it opened.
Bluntly put, the door locks on these cars suck.
I've done the license plate lights trick before, it's a little tricky, but all in all, not too bad.
Although, speaking of using other keys, I was helping a friend out with his 944, and I had both our keys in my hand, I hopped in my car to move it, and started it with his key.....

I'd rather have a thief read these forums and use a VW key to enter my car, instead of breaking the window which I would have to pay $300 insurance deducatable on!!!!!!!!
They can read these forums to get into the car, but there are no hint on hot starting it.. so don't be so paranoid fellas!!!!
Bottom line, don't leave anything in your car, and it won't get broken into!! (Including you keys!)
PS, if your locking system is working properly, you should not be able to lock your doors if one of them is open. (so you can't lock your keys inside!!)

and I carry a spare DME relay too!!! so that's out the window as well..
I have always kept a spare ke inside my car just in case I sould lose my keys. It's in a secret spot- would take someone far too long to find it- it'd be hotwired before they ever found the key.
