Default Wheel Noise Under Load - Need Help diagnosing

Re: 91 944S2 Cabriolet

I am experiencing a wheel noise that increases and decreases with speed. It sounds like a whirring or moaning noise. It only seems to happen when under load from the transmission. When I coast in neutral the car sounds silky smooth and the noise disappears. I originally thought it was the front wheel bearings, because the front rotors were old and looked warped. I recently replaced the front wheel bearings, rotors and pads and the noise is still there.

I am guessing it is either the rear wheel bearings or CV joints. There is no clicking noise coming from the rear like a bad cv joint, so I am leaning more towards the rear wheel bearings.

What do you guys think? Need some opinions before I start dismantling the rear end.

Thanks, Nick

Does the noise go away when turning either direction?
