This is a pretty interesting thread going on.
I'm a robotics engineer. So basicaly I get paid to play with robots all day making sure they don't run into walls, trees, birds, or whatever else they can run into. Also a part time student.

Ph.D. Chemist. Currently Program Leader for the development of silanes and silicones as plastics additives. In my various jobs I have helped in the development of products that go into everything from fiberglass to high performance tires to adhesives and sealants. It has really made me appreciate all the technology that goes into everyday products, such as tires, that we take for granted. I guess you could call me a science geek!
Compared to working on Toyotas, Porsches are definitely a challenge. But after working on Fiats, I will never complain about German engineering!

Corrosion Engineer and Coatings Specialist for State Water Project. I also do failure analysis and expert witness work in corrosion failure of pre-stressed concrete structures. Rust never Sleeps; guess that's why I'll always have a job. Father of two sons that drive; that's a second job right there.

Chris- A huge congrats to you for the new job! I was starting to think that you would sweep floors for a living. Snag me a wireless router when you get a chance.
We've done these threads before, but this one seems a little more diverse than usual. I read the whole thing and there is only 1 person that works in a broadcast media related field?

I've been unemployed for about 9 years. Before that I was a UNIX sys-admin for a software-development company for 10 years. There was also 2 years as a stockbroker in there somewhere..
