I shot mine with 1200F Duplicolor Aluminum color paint and it looked great, then applied clearcoat to get a great factory original look. Spray it with the same paint to fill and don't clearcoat it and it will give you a nice metallic look

Exactly what I used. Tried everything before finding out about these. Cut through the casting pretty quick with coarse, then fine Roloc pads, then wet sand and finished with polishing clay.

Takes forever but can't beat the finished product.
