Default update---could this be the problem?

A couple of weeks ago I posted about the starting problem on my '87 944 n/a. I had discovered a loose hose leading from the Idle Air Control to the intake mainfold (under the intake manifold) and was wondering if that could cause my starting problem. Suggestions were DME relay, spark or fuel problem, etc. but I wanted to give credit to Zach (aka Dilberto) who nailed the problem. He said,
"The idle air control valve fine tunes the mixture reaching the engine. A loose hose to either side will create a condition that fails to start, due to unmetered air entering the intake. A Porsche engine is a precision, airtight piece of machinery that should not have any aspect of it compromised, in order to run right."

So, readers beware! Check all hoses for leaks, tightness, etc.

And, Zach, you da man!

That hose caused my car to not start... and the 1/10 chance it did start, it barely stayed on. I could floor the gas pedal and it wouldnt do crap.

Dilberto knows a lot about these cars.
