Default Does anyone make a non clutch type locker for my non lsd diff?

I realize that this differential topic has been cover 1000 times over and more I'm sure, and I did a search and looked through *alot* of posts, but I couldn't find any info re installing an old school 100% locking diff, the non clutch type that replaces the spider gears. Is there one out there for my 89 na? Any comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Why? It does not make the tranny any stronger, and it'd be a PITA to drive. I had a street Camaro with a spool in the rear and it took less than a week of driving the damn thing before it drove be insain!

if you REALLY want this, and it is sacriledge by the way, have someone weld the spider gears together. Your ring and pinion will be even more likely to fail however.

and everytime you make a turn trhe outside tire ends up spinning...I drove a car once with welded spidergears and it was a PITA.
Thats really a strip only mod.

Hmmm... yah, I've read about the "how it works" stuff, so I'm generally familiar with that bit. The difference in handleing is something I haven't had the chance to experience myself, so I'm not exactly set on doing it (thx for the pita tip). Definately against welding the gears together - seems like a waste of good parts. Thanks for the input again! (typo - I have a 86 na., not 89. not that it matters much.)

Goal? hmmm... well, there's the non lsd in my car, and I read about the lsd trans, and thought, "how can I get one that wont cost me lots of money?" so I thought maybe, possibly, it could work, if, I just put in a locker, but it sounds like driving with 100% locked diff would really drive me crazy every time I'm not doing a quarter mi, so, who wants that? not me anymore .... and maybe I just need something to take apart and put back together. Gotta get my fix you know. Everyone does now and then. right?
