Default RMS, how tight?

How tight should the RMS be all around once installed?

I can slip a .04mm feeler gauge inbetween the crank and the seal at one point...

The first part of the seal, it goes right through with 0 resistance. The second part, takes a little bit of effort...but still not difficult.

Should it be a perfect fit all around?

thanks,
adrial

As I recall the rear main seal fit well when I replace it during a clutch job. But I never checked it with a feeler gage.

Does the new seal leak?

Dont know if it leaks yet, suppose I'll find out soon enough though...

I am considering replacing it, but its probably nothing to worry about.
