Z,

There are two different spare tires that came in the 944 series of cars. The Aluminum spare and the Steel one. The 86's I've had came with the AL one, where as the later cars i've had were give the Steel one from the factory. I don't remember whats in the 968......

As for the value of the car, the transmission according to them is woth $1,700 dollars..... right. Only if its a freshly rebuilt LSD unit.

my first 951 looked much like that after the fire, and I will say there was probably $2,500 dollars worth of stuff on the car (Rear Brakes / Suspension, Transmission, Rear sheet metal, bumpers, valance, Doors, Hatch, Tail lights, Torque Tube, Spare tire, and a few other random bits) But the motor has gone through a fire and odds are had water sprayed into it, so who knows what sort of shape it is in.... Given all the work that needs to go into the car to pull it apart I would say 500 - 600 dollars for the shell....

What are you guys talking about, thats a PRIMO machine right there.

Cut polish the paint, bust out the mequires, that big hole in the hood is OBVIOUSLY there for performance reasons. Must be a high performance engine under there to need that kinda cooling. Only thing wrong must be the A/C, leading to that modified windshield. I bet he had to remove the A/C so he could fit the supercharger+turbocharger configuration.

Default Now Unsafe at ANY Speed...

Even a partially carbonized machine should not be recyclable at all. Period. \
