octane is a formula computed differently in different parts of the world. i think 93 in the us is equivalent to 98 in other parts of the world, but i forget the way the formula differs. it may be that the us uses the average of RON and MON and other countries use the RON only

87 US = 91 RON
91 US = 95 RON
93 US = 97 RON

I cant remember what the US calls their fuel, PON maybe? I cant recall. RON is what the rest of the world uses. So Jonas, your 98 is like our 94.

There's RON (research octane), and MON (motor octane). US/Canada calls it... uhh... R+M/2 hehe.

yep, next time your filling up read underneath the octane rating, it should say R+m/2 as the US equation.

Jonas - how much does your car weigh and what is your altitude?

Also - how much do you weigh with your zip-loc full of Swedish meatballs, and how nice looking are the girls in your town?

here's your sign.

A waste? Why is it a waste? His car can go around turns well, and I'm sure he has exploited the ability many times. He is also looking to build a car that moves fast in a straight line. He's got alot of the handling bits already. I'm not sure I understand your attitude, a car is a car. He wants to have fun with his car and this is how he is doing it. It is a hunk of metal, rubber, plastic, and some other materials. Is it really supposed to do anything other than the owner really wants? Being hung up on some strange mentality that his four-wheeled object is only supposed to do this or that is ridiculous.
