Topic really says it all .. what is the DME relay? Like what's it do and where is it? And is it in n/a as well as turbos? Also.. when I was reading the "taking a porsche to college" post.. why did everyone recommend to pull the dme relay when you park? (Yep.. prob a newb post, but I never could figure out what the thing did)

DME is the computer in the car. The relay controls how it gets electricity etc... It's under the dash, or between the windshield and firewall. Without the relay the car won't run.

The DME Relay actually controls power to the fuel pump. Without power to that.... Youre going nowhere fast, the car wont run or start without a functioning one. It should be one of the FIRST spare parts you buy for your car, I keep one in my glovebox.

You can get the car running without it if you use the correct combination of paperclips, toothpicks and a rubber band.
All the while thinking... why didn't I have a spare in the glove box....
