944s + nitrous
hi
i am thinking of adding nitrous to my 944s. am i better of getting it professionally fitted (for insurance reasons)
i am thinking of getting a universal single kit with injectors at three sizes 25bhp 50bhp 75bhp but what is the best way to control it one switch on/off or say 3/4 throttle or do you get a programmable thing(technical i know but don't know what to call it)
does anyone have nitrous fitted to a 944 if so can you post some pictures please

I doubt anyone here has done this and has any pictures....however I would recommend no more than a 50 shot for a high compression 4 cylinder. As far as controlling it, I would recommend you get a system that adds more juice progressively either throughout the rev range of throttle opening rather than have it shoot it all in all of a sudden - it will be easier on the engine/tranny that way.

Build the safety devices around it first. Wet nitrous kit only, not dry. Add a fuel pressure cutoff switch, use an RPM window switch, and wide open throttle switch. I second the suggestion above: A progressive controller is definately best, but not a requirement.
Remember, using nitrous WILL make your laptop crash and your floorboard fall off.

Given your cars areeuro spec..
Its will be better to limit yourself at 50shot nozzles.
I suggest Zex universal "wet" kit for a few reasons but mostly because its easy and it actually controlls the fuel/n20 mix for you no matter what the bottle pressure. Yes, you still have to moniter bottle pressure closely but not near as much as NX/Nos/Venom/etc. There is one other problem and thats getting the 6" you need for the nozzles before the A/F meter. I would suggest you get
all the stuff jp944 said... That way you will not redline the car and cause a Extremely lean mixture that would instantly kill your engine. Also invest in a bottle warmer because it makes your bottle pressures more constant.
There is no reason for a remote opener/ purge. The Purge is more for show (its pretty cool) and remote opener is good if you race on the street but we don't do that around here (bad) so no reason for it since you will know when you need your n20 and open your bottle then.
Side note...
Main reason for N20 is power on demand... You get the power instantly and thats why I find progressive Nitrous (expecially 50shot) silly.. If you were running a larger shot (above 75) then I would think that it would be worth your time to look at.
