I literally hate those! Two guys ridding them pulled out of an apartment complex onto a main street the other day, and the rider following overcooked it badly trying to catch the guy in front. Basically, he near spilled it about fifteen feet from my car and another that was coming from the other direction. Had I been reaching to change a CD, answer phone, pick nose... he'd probably have been squished and my bumper would be damaged!
But they do look like fun...

ihi turbos are pretty small and typically top out at 18 psi for very common turbo coupe thunderbirds. a guy i know is going to put one on his full size bike with an external waste gate. its still like a 2 inch inlet i think. maybe 1.5. maybe mitsu turbos are smaller. like the chrysler 2.2s that are everywhere.

These are interesting too - all sorts of fun to be had with old turbochargers:

Theres got to be some very small turbos, for bikes and such.
Or an alternative... An electric centrifugal blower? Could just get a 12 volt battery, one of the sealed lead acid ones used in household alarms that weighs a few pounds would do the trick, then some piping for the blower. Ive got a little 12 volt plastic one thats maybe 1.5 inches thick and under 6 inches across that blows some serious air for its size.
So basically a smaller scale version of one of those electric supechargers you can buy for your car.

i was just out riding it, and right as i pulled int he garage and stuck it on the stand a cop rolled by. luckaly this little kid down the street was riding a little electric one so the cop immediately went over there and asked him about it. when he realised it was electric he drove off. but now i know that my neighbors dont like it. hah
