Question Any advice on ordering a cover

Hi, I'm about to order a car cover for my 944. As a CoverCraft Noah will be GBP235 here in UK I'm seriously considering ordering from www.carcoverworld.com in USA where they are $154! But shipping to UK adds $80. So I've a couple of questions:

First off has anyone any recommendations about whether this is a good cover to buy and if you have experience of an alternative what can you suggest? The car lives outside in our compartively mild but damp UK climate.

Second, even though the $80 shipping still makes it much cheaper than over here I may have to pay import duty and purchase tax here (at anything up to 25%). So does $80 sound reasonable and do you know of anywhere that will charge less?

Thanks for your help.

I have bought 14 factory covers for 18 different Porsches. I liked every one of them, the covers too!

Guy,

I just ordered a cover from them for my 951 in Spain. They are accustomed to shipping overseas and have the nice option of using U.S. Postal Service Global Express, which makes it a lot cheaper.

I ordered the cover in Dupont Technalon material, because I park indoors and already had one for several years I was quite pleased with until it was recently stolen. I find that this kind "breathes" well while keeping all dirt and dust out and at the same time is thick enough to protect from door dings if you park in a city garage with lots of traffic, like I do.

Total cost was about US$207, shipped to my door. It's likely that they won't have a cover in stock for your car, and you may have to wait about a week before they send it out.

I have the factory cover for my 944 which i got from performance products. I keep my car outside at school (IThaca college, ithaca NY) and find it to be a good cover. It protects the car well and is breathatble so moisture does not build up on the car.

Another vote for the factory cover.

You can impress your friends with the PORSCHE logo on it too. Coordinated stuff makes you look like you mean business and looking the part is half the battle. Only the other half cares about what you know.
