The tranny will easily handle it, and I'd go to a slightly stronger clutch. The kit is not supposed to negatively affect anything.

Is the kit made by one company, or are there good and bad kits? Will a short shift magnify shifting problems, like a stiff 2nd gear, etc?? Sorry for the 3rd degree...I just thought about how LONG the throws are on the S2 as I drove to work this morning!

Did you ever wind up getting one of those birth certificates for your car from Porsche, like you did for your former Grey coupe?

v944, it was the NNJR annual picnic-if you belong, you would've read about it in Porscheforus. Andy, the 944racing kit shortens the throw, not the shifter itself. It's supposed to be the best way to do it. Other kits work in different ways, I think. The p.o. of my car had the Cardex, and gave it to me.
