Default power door locks in 944's/924's/931's/951's/968's

How DO they work? what sort of actuator is it.. where do they bolt on, how does it work with the cable-driven system? Does anyone have any sort of pictures or diagrams of what makes it tick? I tried getting them installed in my 944 but they were un-successful

Its a solenoid that pulls a cable.

You might try an aftermarket system that clamps onto the stock actuator rod. Try to get one that has something close to a 1/4" (15mm?) throw on it; the kit I bought has 3/4" range of motion and I had to add more clamping power because they were overpowering their connector and slipping out of alignment.

slowazzporsche, Your 84 should have rod actuated locks. The aftermarket system I installed in my 84 has worked great for many years now. I highly recommend it. I think I bought it at Performance Products.

yes, so sorry.. don't know what the hell I was talking about, got confused with the handle.. I don't see why they couldn't have installed them... *ponders* perhaps too lazy to do the work considering it's a flat rate they charge?
