I stand corrected.
Wheel Sizes Front 7J x 16
65mm offset
Rear 9J x 16
60mm offset
Tire Sizes Front 225/50 VR 16
Rear 245/45 VR 16
I do seem to recall something in Peter Morgan's book about the 89 951 having 8" wide rear wheels but I'll check when I get home. Morgan's book does have some inaccuracies, though.

Pete, mine were definitely 9" rear wheels.
Morgan's book is good, but not perfect, as has been pointed out to me before. I wish there was a similar book for the 928.

The '89 951's (and presumably the '88 Turbo S models) came with 7x16 front wheels and not 8x16. It says so in the owner's manual and that's the way my car and all the Turbo S cars I'm familiar with were delivered from the factory.

7 & 9's were on all turbo S and 89 turbo's.
These are the last of the Fuchs forged wheels. (forged wheels made by Fuchs for Porsche).
Turbo S cars are not noticable from any external feature. Best place to look for a turbo S is to check for the chassis stiffeners in engine bay. THese are small triangle parts of sheet metal extending from shock tower forward on the frame rail. The infact interfere with hoses for the expansion tank. S cars must use two hoses to avoid these stiffeners.
There is not always a M758 (turbo S option code) marking on the car and S4 brakes and even rolled fenders can be retrofitted. It is not impossible, but very unlikely a guy will add in these plates in making a stard 951 in to a Turbo S.

Just to prove to myself that I wasn't losing it, I found the reference to the '89 951's having 8" rear wheels.
It's in a hardcover book I have called "Porsche Chronicle" published in 1995.
On page 166 it states:
"Porsche moved the target higher in early 1989 with the release of the 944S2 and a more potent 944 Turbo. The latter was essentially the previous S-model with a nicer price of $47,600--a decrease, crowed PCNA, of 4.7 percent on an "equiptment adjusted" basis. Rear rolling stock was back to eight inches, but all tires were now Z-rated."
I'm not saying that the statement is a fact, but at least I know I wasn't imagining it.

I picked up a set of the Club Sports from a local over 6 months ago. They are most deff 7" wide FRONT and 9" Rear (ya 8" rears im guessing are from a 928 and seem very rare if anything)
What I really need help is, WHAT Tires are out there for 225/50/16 Fronts and 245/45/16 Rears (this is the correct size to run on the club sports) but all I find is Fuzion and they are UGLY. Im looking around everywhere for other makes.
TIA

If you also look at 245/50s there are more options. I just put some club sport wheels on my car a few months ago and wound up using Bridgestone Potenza 960s. Not a cheap tire but hold the road great in dry and wet.....at least in my 164hp car. I think there are some Firestone and some Goodyears in that size.
The only thing I don't like about my tires is they're stretched a little to fit a 9" wide wheel. I don't know if I've gotten used to it or the shape has changed a little after a few thousand miles.

Rear tire options are getting tough for us Turbo S guys looking to stay stock. I am running Yoko ES100's in 245/45 R16, but these are something like 8 years old. Still good for street use, but I am not sure what I am going to to when I need to replace them. I could change wheels, but I really like the club sports.

I've never heard of club sports in 8'' but on the other hand, i've never heard about D90 wheels in 9'' untill a few weeks ago, they came on 928gt or gts
i've got 2 sets of clubsports so 9'' all around
