Unhappy Scratched Glass

Hi Guys, My side windows have become sccratched after many years use. 1st question is how can I polish them out. Is there any commercialy available stuff to do this or is it a job for a pro.

2nd question is how to prevent it happening again. I am going to try and remove the seals and give them a good scrub but other than this im not to sure.

Thanks in advance and hope things over the other side of the pond are treating you all well.

I could pull the side glass out of my parts car and fly to Scotland for a wee dram...

Seriously, you can polish glass with Cerium Oxide and a buffing wheel, but it would be a lot of work. You probably have some worn or missing window guide parts that will just scratch replacement or repolished glass too unless you fix all that up though. Best to replace the glass and the seals, and the guide bits.
