ok guys, i was wondering if there's a specific way to remove that whole black plastic cover below the winshield that covers some of the stuff under the hood. thanks.

First of all, take off the wipers. under the wipers there will be, 1: Another metal nut. 2: A black 2" diameter metal washer, and then 3: another more rubbery spacer beneath that. You must remove all this first. (I just took off the wipers and the nut, not realising the black metal washers have to come off first!

Then there is a layer of 2 sided tape that holds the plastic to the windshield. You can just gently pull it out, or try wedging a knife under if need be, to finally remove the plastic. The rubber weatherstripping along the bottom edge should come off and back on easily.
