What Wheels for 1988 NA 944?
I've recently purchased a normally aspirated 1988 944 and what to move from the stock 7Jx15 phone-dial wheels to something else. I love the silver rim/black center look of the Fuchs and Cookie-cutters but perusing the list show's I have offset issues with those.
I'm looking for a bolt-on replacement w/no spacers or questionable clearance specs. What factory options do I have for later porsche wheels? CS, Design 90, etc. I't would be great if someone could point me to a FAQ on this if one exists.
Thanks!
Barry

lots of info on this. the good thing is lots of late model porsche wheels have the same or similar offsets, so many types will fit.
late-offset phone dials
design 90 wheels (7"/8")
C2/968 16" wheels (7"/8")
several of the 17" samples (cup1, cup2, etc)
club sport wheels (7"/9") - slightly different offset
928 flat dish wheels generally don't fit. there are, however, a few sets of the flat dish wheels around with 944 offsets.

C2's are a great update for the look of the 944 as well as 993 cup wheels. Although if you like the look of 993TT wheels those are also a kickass wheel. I don't usually reccommend 18's on an old suspension, but try looking around for 17" replicas like from Mille Miglia. Congrats on your buy and welcome to the 944 board if you haven't been already
