I'd done full D-porting on the heads and intake-manifolds along with larger narrow-stem valves using fully-radiused contoured seats. On the bench, it's worth close to double the flow as a stock head. In real-world terms with it bolted onto a car, I'm guessing it'd be worth about 30-35hp. I'll be dyno-testing a car in a couple weeks with a partial version of this head for before & after comparison. Should be interesting..

is that an N/A head or turbo head? or are they the same after you port them? what does it take to get an S head on a turbo or na block?

The NA and Turbo heads have different exhaust-to-intake port sizes. There are optimum ratios for NA as well as boosted applications and both of these are pretty well optimized by Porsche to begin with. That means if you take an NA head and port it for boost, it's gonna take a lot more grinding than starting with a Turbo head (and vice-versa).

A 944S head will bolt right onto a 2.5L 2V block. You'll need to figure out a way to fabricate the intake and exhaust manifolds to fit somehow... Only the 944S intake-manifold will fit that head and the intake-runner lengths and plenum volumes are all wrong for a turbo car, so you won't realize the full advantage of 4-valve heads. Same thing with the exhaust-manifold.

These cars are designed as complete systems. Every part is matched to the rest of the engine for optimum performance. So whenever you change any part, there's a rippling effect to everything else that's connected.

Mike and Matt, most of my pictures didn't turn out too well either. My camera especially did poorly with the red cars. It was a huge shame, too, as I really wanted some good shots of the 959! Oh, well. Still, it was a great display of fine Porsches!

Yeah, point & shoot digital cameras have a tough time with red cars; a lot of times, they end up PINK! But then again, there's always Photoshop to the rescue:

Yes- that definitely is a bubble-butt 944 with GT-Racing body parts. I kinda like them replica C2 3.6 Turbo three-pieces, though..
