Joking!

One thing you may want to get done ASAP is the cam chain tensioner man. IF that breaks GAME OVER MAN GAME OVER!!

Let me enlighten you!

If this top or bottom plastic piece slips off.

BOOOM

BOOM AGAIN

NOT to mention all the valves that are probably toast.

Welcome! Drive the wheels off the car. Once you daily-drive a 944 series, it's very tough to drive anything else. Enjoy!

Welcome to the board ! I stumbled into Porsche ownership in the much the same way as you. No lookin' back. Best advice is to have as much fun fixing it as driving it and you'll save a ton of cash and get double the pleasure.

Enjoy the ride !

Jeez, the pictures are really frightening.
All the talking was ok, but those shots are like finding Freddy Kreuger in your closet by opening it!

Whitt944, Don't let that scare you, you don't have a 944S or S2. Those are the only ones that have a cam chain. Your 944 doesn't. All you have to do is change the timing belt.

Have fun! Drive the thing!

Make sure the check the oil level from time to time, like every gas fill up! these cars do use a bit of oil.

Dal.

ha ha ha, once again i find my pictures of my broken head and chain tensioner failure - glad you had a use for them, S2NUT. Dal is right, assuming Whitt944 has an 8v car - the chain tensioner only applies to 16v cars.

Welcome to Porsche ownership and to rennlist. Two of the best things that have happened in my life! (after wife and kids)
You got a screaming good deal, so enjoy. And I'll bet you will never be able to NOT own a Porsche again. 944s are the best kept secret in autmotive ownership. Best car for the $ hands down!
