Mark,

I can't access John's pix off of your link, but he'll likely email them to me tomorrow or during the week.

There are some pix of you with your car on jack stands while you drain the brakes at the Jefferson circuit on Metro region's D.E. site.

As for the Shenandoah track, I don't see how that track can be driveable this year. Assuming that they get the asphalt down before Labor Day, I think that the track operators would be well-advised to let the new surface cure for a while and open the circuit in the Spring. Maybe they have machines (rollers) that can compress the surface so that the track is ready within days of laying down the top course?

Anyway, you might want to consider making alternate arrangements just in case your planned Shenandoah date gets cancelled.

Rich--Wait a minute, was that you in the black 968? If I see you in the track again I'll have to get a ride in the passenger seat. Just no passing in the curves!!! In the meantime, I'll keep my fingers crossed that the Shenandoah Circuit gets on line.

Mark,

Yes, I am that very same idiot that passed you sans a point-bye. I have no defense other than temporary (or, perhaps, permanent) insanity.

Of course you can ride with me anytime. As if the car doesn't already handle very well, I intend to make some suspension upgrades by the time we meet again.

Gets those brakes fixed! Stay well.

Default Love the poster

So I ordered a poster-size print of the photo. It looks great. I think there were at least two photographers at the track; I got my print from "Digital Pete." I'm very pleased with the results.

The other photographer is David Zipkin who was at the track on monday & tuesday - his business is Fast Forward on Track Photography, 99 Redington St., Bay Shore, NY 11706 (631) 968-8933.

I think he only photographed your car if you paid him $30 before hand (sometime during monday morning). For that, you get about 8 or 10 different 4 x 6" pix plus a business card-sized fridge magnet. He uses real film, not digital. It's a pretty good deal, but I didn't get any pix from his this time. I did buy one from Digital Pete.

Rich, did you previously instruct w/ NASA back in 2002 or so, stockish black 968 on stickies, towed by a Denali or the like - made it to VIR-N, Kershaw, Summit Point that year. Haven't met too many folks that tracked (in earnest) their 968s.

about the brakes - that's bad form on the shop's part. that's a safety issue.

you might consider confronting the shop owner/manager about a credit and threatening with bad publicity.

Hey Adam.

No, that wasn't me. The 968 is new to me this year. I've always been a 911 guy (still have my Carrera). I am really enjoying the 968 though and may PCA club race the car in September or in '05 - we shall see.

Ciao.

Richard
