Default mirror vibrates

Hi guys,
Iam at buddys house and he has a 944 S2, the drivers mirror vibrates while zipping down the freeway. The head appears to be loose on the stalk. Any idea's how to tighten this? its not like my car.

Thanks,
Pete

Take the housing off, inside you'll find a cheesehead bolt (12point) where the neck of the flag is. This bolt holds the spring inside the mirror. Tighten.

Wow, 4 minutes, not bad, almost as fast as the 993 board.

How do you take the housing off?

Thanks,
Pete

Well, that's because unlike the 993 folks, we have other things in our lives -- like watching TV

Anyways, a flag mirror can be removed by turning the mirror forward exposing an allen bolt (I think 4mm, there may be a plastic cover on it). To get at that cheesehead bolt, you'll need to also remove the wires, which is a PITA. Basically, take the mirror off and start unbolting everything. Once you're in there, the wires are attached to a 6-pin electrical connector that I ended up replacing -- I couldn't get the darn thing pushed back out with a pin like you're supposed to.. You might have better luck (or better tools).

Thanks, I'll go give it a try. The mirror that is, not getting a life outside the boards.
