Steve - as often as your nose can stand it. That stuff make me want to puke. On a more serious note, about every 15K is most cars rec. I would say with a good synthetic maybe more like 20-30K. Since most of our cars dont see that kind of mileage I might do it once per year.

I just did mine and God only knows when it was done before that.

Stinks worse than road-kill skunk. Don't leave it in an open pan in the garage in July. Don't say I didn't warn you. Whew!

FWIW, the guys at Paragon will help you determine which oil you'll need (LSD/non-LSD). Plus they ship right away, so they're a pretty good source for that stuff.

Yea, it's time to put the clothspin on the nose and change it. Although the Synthetic doesn't seem to smell as bad as the God-Awful stuff that was in there!! The Redline containers have been sitting on the shelf waiting for me to get motivated. Of course I'm almost due for the dreaded timing belt job as well...will make for a weekend of fun and frolic!!

Just an update on this thread. I did put the ole clothespin on the nose over the weekend and put new Redline in. The last batch was in there for about 30,000 miles. I was surprised to actually feel a difference...smoother shifting and better synchro engagement. So even the REALLY good stuff starts to degrade after that many miles.

The service interval for transaxle fluid change on the 968 is 48K miles. I plan to change it every 24K. I also noticed a big improvement after changing. The smell was bad but the effect was amazing!

Probably no big deal but... gear oil has been changed.
Those plugs were a challenge but they came out. Now my baby has fresh Red Line in her gear box.
Thanks to all that contributed.
Thanks to Skip at Paragon for a great "How to" on your tech forum.
You will get all my USA business.
