So many cars, so little time... The prices of the earlier 968s are dropping a little quicker than I though they would, as I have seen two others sell in the $7500-8500 neighborhood lately as well. Its a darned nice car to trade for so little money. Who knows, I may seriously consider going to a 968 coupe before long myself, after I get teh Gen'l Lee going. I drove my 968 cab at Hallet last Friday and had a blast with it, tip tranny and all.

Ian, hold on to it a little while longer than a month, and really drive it. After three months, you'll be able to make a better decision.

Regards,

Wow, those are some bargain 968 prices over there

For comparison, I just sold a nice 105k mile 92 coupe for (drum roll while I work out exchange rate)....$21000!

Ian-

I understand not liking a car due to looks! I sold my '88 NA just because I didn't like the Zermat Silver with the light grey interior (well, that was mostly why I sold it)! Sell it at a profit, and continue the search if you can't live with the color combo. That said, blue/green with tan interior is VERY cool, IMHO.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have a WHITE 944 with 16 inch 968 rims! Both disgusting according to two posters above! I like it though!

the cars trade in value- in my experience trade in value is always pretty low. I bought the car for 6800 and have done everything from an overall paint job, brake lines and flush, timing belt/seals/tune up, coilovers (200lbs) on front, koni yellows, turbo sways, boxster wheels/phones w/ race tires- rollbar, momo wheel, throttle cam, muffler, shaved rear bumper and euro front w/ 931 nose. Anything else? xsboost90@yahoo.com
I would say the car could bring 7500 or upwards=at least i would like to believe that right
That 924 nose looks great. Nice work on that 944.

Jim,

I can say some positive things about the car, it is everything I want in a daily driver, but the color.....

The potential buyer backed out, so the car will be going up for sale, odds are i'll go back to a 951.... Or maybe I'll get lucky and find another 968 this time in Black, Silver or White.....

Holly crap, you would only buy at trade in price??? That is what the a-holes at dealers do, didn't know fellow listers did it to each other.

The car is a steal. I thought I got a good deal on mine, but yours is in better shape than mine was. I think that the unique colors add to the uniqueness of owning a Porsche, but maybe I am off. I think you should drive your mechanically sound car for a little while longer and realize what you have, just my $.02. Hopefully it is just the color that is throwing you off...Perhaps we might see another 968 autoxing soon in the area....hmmmm
