Default Bright Lights All Of The Sudden

My 84 944's lights have always been kinda dim (usual) and the wipers were kinda slow (usual).....I went away on vacation and came back to the garage and started her up and now all my lights are really bright and wipers are fast again.....the electric knomes must have paid a visist....no problems....just kinda fixed itself....maybe a bad ground fixed itself....

Oh, oh. Better be careful here as that wiring doesn't fix itself. I'd give you good odds that your voltage regulator just failed and is no longer limiting the maximum voltage output. If it runs away too high you will start burning components out, like all your light bulbs. But what I would really worry about is the ECU as that is $$$$$.

Better check voltage at the battery when running and if you are up around 15 volts or more get that voltage regulator replaced pronto.
