gunk in intake manifold

Default gunk in intake manifold

ok so as most people know i'm taking apart my engine right...sorry if i'm a little uneducated here...but is there supposed to be grease and stuff along the inside walls of the intake manifold? i didn't know for sure and just wanted to make sure if everything was ok with it...thanks

There should be no grease per se, but some amount of oil residue is normal. You will find it in your intercooler pipes and the intercooler too. If it is drippy-wet, then you have a bad seal in the turbo or elsewhere.

oh it's not drippy wet it's kinda just grimy residue i guess along the walls...i guess that's normal then...but o ya i don't have a turbo so no intercooler pipes for me

this is the reason to have an oil catch can!!
all that crap in there is oil.......isnt pretty is it.

hmmm I went to accurate machine works .com where we got it...but they arent there???

whew...ummm
I had pics but the computer crashed and havent had tiume to reload pics of of disk...well...I'm just lazy.
my dad knows the specifics but the top line goes to the oil seperator and connectes to the original line that we cut to size through an adaptor. and hose clamps.
the bottom one just slipped right on the normal spot in the intake(i think) again with hose clamps.
