Question Cleaning connections at S&R sensor plugs

I've been having occasional starting problems with my 944. After some reading thru the archives, and trial and error, I've figured out that if I wiggle the plugs at the back of the head for the speed and reference sensors, the car will then start. I believe that the problem stems from when the heater hose at the rear of engine blew on me a while back. I think that moisture got into the plugs then and it has caused corrosion inside them. How should I go about cleaning these connections? Will regular electrical contact cleaner do the job? I plan to use electrical grease to prevent any future corrosion. Any other tips or things I should do while I'm working on these to tighten the connections up and prevent future problems?
Thanks!

Anybody? Bueller.....Bueller.......??
Surely I'm not the only one to have to deal with this. Did I say something wrong to anger the Porsche faithful? If so, I offer heartfelt apologies...
