Default K26 Turbo Rebuild

Has anyone rebuilt there own turbo? If so do you remember where you bought the repair kit. I have a couple of used turbos around and I would like to give a try to rebuilding them. Thanks for the help.

You can't do a full rebuild by yourself because the turbo has to be balanced on precision balancers. You can tear it down but I doubt it really detracts from the total rebuild cost. Not to let you down or anything, I used to want to rebuild turbos since I also have some.

I have a small machine shop at my disposal. What would they need to have in order to balance the turbine?
