Default Car keyed?

Use at your own risk, your mileage may vary, etc, but I happened upon an easy and potentially dangerous way to fix deep key scratches in paint.

The PO had been keyed and painted over it with globs of touchup paint. Brushed on, looked terrible. I happened to be using some Brakleen on a rag to take off some stoneguard residue, scrubbed the painted over key scratch briefly, and it completely disappeared. Brakleen took all of the touchup paint off, except what was down in the deep scratch. I'd post a picture, but I can't find where the scratch was.

Again, I officially don't recommend anyone do this unless it is a last resort and you have nothing to lose, and at the very least you should test in a door jamb first to make sure it won't strip all of your paint off. It happened to work for me, may work for you, but may strip your car down to primer.

Brake cleaner. I'm in the Marsh/Royal area. We really need a big Dallas/Fort Worth GTG.

I've heard about using a rag with paint thinner stretched over a block of wood in the same manner. With that method, you paint the scratches, then use the rag with thinner over a block of wood to go over it and remove excess the next day and it works great.
