Default HELP -- 14PIN connector by brake booster question

Guys,

I ran a volt meter over each of the pins on the 944 side of the house (as opposed to the 968 wiring harness side), and I'm getting voltage just by turning the key (not cranking) at each pin EXCEPT pin 7 (which is supposed to supply 12 v upon start up). Pin 7 has 8 volts as I crank (I assume it would go to 12 should the car start).

My question is because I do not want to fry this DME. Pins 2, 3 and 5 go to the DME per this chart (http://members.rennlist.com/tholyoak...wap_wiring.htm) and I'm wondering if it's normal to have this voltage when I turn the key.

I don't want to install the DME and crank it without knowing for sure.

Help much appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt
