Default Anyone rebuilt their power steering?

If so, I am at an impass since I can;t get the splined piece out of the top of the rack. ANy ideas on how to pull it out? I know it should rotate as it comes out but it won't budge. any ideas would be great!

Thanks!

Unscrew the 2 10mm bolts and remove the small side plate on the housing (the one the ground strap attached to). That'll remove pressure from the carriage and it should come out easily.

Try holding the rack on both ends and pulling it towards the side you removed the little cover from while bracing the cast housing. I find it easiest to put 4 fingers of each hand around the rack, and brace the housing with my thumbs, and squeeze. That little pressure plunger gets stuck, this'll push it back.
