Default A what would you pay question: 968 6 speed?

I may be stumbled accross a great deal on a 968 last night. I have a friend going to check out a 130k mile, dealer mainted amazon green, 6 speed, 968.

I think I can get it for a deal, but was currious of what people would guess the car was worth if we assume its in good shape. I know the clutch has 15k on it, and the timing belt / water pump have less than 5k on them. The owner was not a car guy and couldn't tell me if it had 16 or 17 inch wheels or really anything of value.

The dealer has agreed to give me complete documentation back to 1996 (when its service started at the dealer). Only a two owner car.

So whats it worth?

What year is it? I'm guessing around $13-15K. It is a coupe, right?

I sold the 951 for a value north of what i'll pay for the 968, and the 968 is such a baragin I can't let it go. Odds are i'll buy it, drive it, clean it up and sell it.......

I joked with him last night about that, too! I can't decide who has the addiction for waterpumpers worse, me or him....

I got $10 that says Ian will buy a modification for the 968 within 5 weeks of purchase date. Any takers?

Give him some time, and it will be a bonafide 968 Turbo RS, done with class, of course!

I know of a very nice red 95 Couple 6spd going for 16.5k in Arizona 100k miles with a meticulous current owner.

Humm, I'll take the bet...... why you ask?

Well if I buy it, i'm going to leave the car car in charlotte for a few weeks while I finish things up on the 951 to get it ready for Jonathan. Then after Jonathan picks up the car, if I havn't sold off the 996 TT brakes the 968 will be sitting on jack stands with brakes that are far to big for the wheels it has........

But the thought of those brakes staying alive on the 968 is an interesting prospect.......

Who knows what my waterpumping obsession will bring next.....
