I'll do some "testing" tomorrow after work. I didn't have a chance to use it yet. I'm actually reading the manual.

Does anyone know what a 1989 944S2 weighs?

I'm guessing 2950lbs with the heavier wheels and me in it.
From a search here: 1989 944S2---2750lbs.
My euro bumper & aluminum brackets are at least 40lbs lighter than the US setup.
The 18" wheels and tires are maybe 15lbs heavier per wheel.
I'm currently pegging the scale at 175.

2750-40+60+175= 2945lbs.

got mine today. did some testing. i input 2300 lbs and got about 135 hp's i was like wtf. then i put the weight in at 3200 lbs (I weigh 190ish, full tank) and got 238hps. qtr mile was very bad. i babied/bogged off the launch, then shifted gently. 15.6 @ 104 lol. fun to play with, just sometimes hard to find straight road with no traffic, then come to a complete stop, then go.

also tried it with my friend durango r/t. ship weight on that car was 4500lbs. he said no way it weighed that much, but we put 5000lbs in as weight. he weighs 250ish. the specs on that is awd 255 hps. we got 199 out of it which seems reasonable

$45 is pretty good value imho.

You need to put your weight in wiht the car weight? How does this thing know anything anyway, is it GPS? Inertia somehow?

Horsepower is speed times acceleration times the weight of the vehicle. It needs to know how much weight the engine is pulling to give you an accurate number.

you put the total weight of the car and passengers in it. then the magic box calculates calculates how many hp's are required to move the car and my fat *** at the rate you accelerate.

it has an "accelerometer" in it. it measures g-forces.

yay! got mine in the mail today, pretty slick lil thing.
(though It seems to be miscalibrated, pointing down is 0.8x g up is -1.2x g
taking a level and making sure he device is level, its -.15 g ... so i have to aim it a lil down to read .00 on the street)

so I drove a lil with it tonight, and I was sorta able to try it out, I didnt want to go to any old light and race off like a jackass, so it was hard to find a good spot....

so i got a 0 to 60 time of 9.2 seconds (avg between two runs)
with not so quick shifts..... so i guess about right for an NA? I think with better shifting a real launch i could get that down half a second or so... I need to use a Stopwatch and a GPS to find out how accurate this thing is...

so how are you all enjoying yours?

I tried mine out a little last night but I couldn't find a good spot to test it. I didnt want to make multiple passes on the same street and draw alot of attention.
I had to back out due to traffic during my 0-60 run so I didn't get good numbers. The same with my hp run. I had to let off and only measured 143hp. I'm going to keep it on so when the right opportunity comes along I can get the real numbers.
