On my 87 there are 2 bolts per side that secure the seatback, I guess early was different.

Have you tried a screwdriver impact wrench? One of those deals that you hit with a hammer?

Please let me know how the installation is on those sea covers. Hear great things about them and thinking about getting them. A bit worried about the installation though.

I have a tip on the rear seats. I removed the rear seats on my '89 944 so I could put sound proofing dynamat under them (like I also did to the rest of the car). After applying the dynamat, I had difficultly getting the rear seat bottom back in because the dynamat made it half an inch higher. So I didn't put the spacers/washers onto the seat belt clips which hold the seat bottom down. This caused the bolts to protrude under the car which made a tapping sound against the driveshaft. The repair shop put it on a lift and quickly found the cause of the sound and I put the spacers back in and solved the problem. No big deal, just make sure to use the spacers/washers.
