we painted the truck in spray paint, and it looks okay, but the paint is a little messed up - under the mud there's paint somewhere

The paint was $1k for base/clear coat, plus another $600 in body work. That's also not including the other $2k I spent in new seals, speakers, turbo valance, trim pieces, etc.

Spray paint truly is a great thing. You just gotta know how to use it and properly let it dry between stages. For $200 worth of materials you can do you own paint job with very good results if you are precise. There are alot of articles all over the web that will give you tips and tricks with spray paint. About 14 cans of Duplicolor got my old 944 back to new. Here are pictures a few days after painting, and some follow up pictures of how long the paint can last.

Anyone done the Mexico thing? I've been told you can to down to Tijuana and get great quality paint / body work done for a fraction of what it costs in the U.S. They can spray really good stuff that's no longer legal in the U.S. also. Anyone done it?
