Default Permanent Heat

My A/C recently started blowing hot at all temperature settings. But it's different than last time (which was a broken clip).
Now the vent to the left of the steering wheel blows hot, but if I close that vent, the hot air comes out the vent surrounding the trip odometer reset button. The center vents still blow cold air.
I checked the heater clip, and it's still attached. I played with all the A/C ***** and buttons and the heater clip and the arm attached to it (in the picture below) didn't move.
Anybody know what the issue is? Is there a way I can force the vent into the cooling position?
Thanks.

Not sure about late models, but my early model has a flap that switches from center vents to outer vents, check and make sure that isnt screwed up.

I've been trying to get this doped out as well...apparently there are two solenoids/vacuum switches near the passenger's left knee...those apparently control the flaps...Let us know what you find...
