Default Anyone have a spare bad block lying around?

Looking to buy (Extremely cheap or donations) a 944 block. Does not have to be good (scored walls okay, just about everything but cracked would be fine), I am going to experiment with it and take some measurements for a later project. Local would be nice. Let me know if someone has one taking up space.

Time to start autocad in hopes of the largest displacement 951 motor I can build. muhahahahahaaaaa....

I gave an old block to Rockfan up in Milwaukee (I think). He might be willing to part with it.

I MAY have a 951 block with scored cylinders for sale in DFW. Waiting to hear back from the machine shop the cost of getting it sleeved. If it's too much I may opt to find a decent shortblock and start with it. What's your time frame and what is "cheap"?

No rush and cheap is cheap. If you are going to use it for an ornament, I might be willing to pay for that ornament. Just dont let it go in the trash.

I think I know that car, did you buy it recently from another Dallas local? Car would be red with kalahari engine bay, non-working hatch (last I played with it), and a poor paint job?

Hi - I *might* have a block I can part with. I'll know in a couple of weeks once I get a chance to take a good look at it. If nobody else steps up check back with me in a couple of weeks or so.

951 project - huh? Here I thought you were going to buy that 944 project that is on Pelican. It's in Chicago.

Oh - and I'm in La Crosse, not Milwaukee. About 5 hours away. However, I will be making a trip to Chicago in a few weeks. My neighbor wants to look at a 912, and I've got the truck and trailer.

Well, that car is on Ebay and the ad reads differently that the Pelican ad. I just emailed him.
As to the 951 project I already have the car and I am being lazt about putting it back together. Since it has taken this long I am exploring the possibility of a 3.4L or larger motor. Since I dont know if it will work I dont need a spare engine (further I would end up chucking virtually the entire thing) I just need a block and I dont care about the cylinders for obvious reasons.

Matt/Jim,
For shipping odd, heavy packages, check out www.baxglobal.com. I have shipped some trans, wheels and roll cages with them. Very good rates.
