Default Disconnect Switch

Gents: I am considering placing a Disconnect switch on the ground side of my battery cable. Considering I am still repairing the ravages of an under dash fire, I thought that such a switch mounted on my dash, might help in case of an instant replay. My 944 is a 1983 model. I have seen a 50amp toggle on EBay. I don’t think this has the capacity to do the job. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance…😀

Since the car does have an alternator, the more expensive switch is indicated:

Amazon Amazon

Make sure you get one without a post that sticks up higher, there is not a lot of clearance under the hood.
