Default Transferable alignment

I remember a thread a while ago where someone mentioned a nantional tire chain that offered an alignment warrenty that could be transferred to different vehicles in the household. Does anyone remember which company it was and whether or not they still offer it?
Thanks.

If the question relates to a car OTHER than the 944, please disregard.

If it's for the 944, please ONLY go to a good P-car shop in the area that knows 944 series. A good alignment on a 944 is the best bang-for-the-buck handling investment you can make in these cars. I kinda prefer the shops in the area that support all the club racers. Specify if full street, part street/part track, or full-out track junky.

Just my 2 cents on the topic.

Firestone offers a lifetime alignment deal but I'm not certain whether it's transferable from car to car. I doubt it.

I would second Dave's comments... the alignment mechanic must be experienced with 944's or don't bother.

Firestone's lifetime alignment is not transferable to other cars in the family. It is only good for the vehicle that was aligned, as long as that person owns the vehicle. That said, if dad gets his son's car aligned and buys the lifetime for him, the son can then take the car to any outlet nation wide and have the warranty honored.

Well, my mom's van needs an alignment and since I did some work with the 944's front suspension last year, I was hoping that I could get my alignment checked. My car still tracks straight and I am getting even tire wear, but I'm just wondering how close the alignment is to spec.

I tried searching for the post, but could not find it among the hundreds of threads on alignments. If I remember the post correctly, the company offered a 6 month warrenty on an alignment which could be used to align another vehicle of the household. I guess that it might have been a limited time offer or an offer valid only at that local store.

In my experience 944's hold an alignment better than most cars. Now, my wife's minivan bouncing off of potholes... that's a different story.

National Tire and Battery (NTB) offers the transferrable alignment warranty if you buy the extended warranty. They offer a 1 year warranty which is not transferrable and 3 and 5 year warranties that are transferrable.

You better check on the NTB lead as they were recently purchased by another company.

Thanks. I'll call NTB and see if they still have it.
