Default 944s also known as. . .

928s are occasionally referred to as "Sharks", some models of 911s are referred to as "Whales" (probably due to the tails), and Corvette has its "Stingrays" from the late '60s. . . seems to me the 944 should have an aquatic-inspired name as well. Any suggestions (and "leech that sucks the life blood and money out of my husband" has already been suggested - and rejected - by my significant other).

"Shark" is a corvette term to be sure. It actually got its name from a show car painted to match a mako shark during the stingray years.

As for the 944...perhaps there is a mercurial fish that sharks cannot catch as they turn too quickly for the shark to follow.

I've always wanted to call them "wolves" - as in wolf pack. Agressive land animals that are fast killing machines.

Then again - Dolphins kill Sharks and the front end of a 951 kinda looks like a bottle nose dolphin....

I do belive the most common 924-944 title is "Poor Mans Porsche"

Do I belive it? Hell no! but I always get that response on other car boards (mostly ricer boards)

928 = flounder - the funniest thing I've heard in a while (especially with the explanation for it)

It's gotta be toughter than dolphin.

How about the "Moray Eel" for a strong name?
