Default "Flat" Strut Tower Brace, NOT the Kind Made from Bar Stock -Inexpensive Source?

I can't remember the company name for this style of brace. I seem to remember it priced at like $289(!!) and I can't go for that. I am doing some underhood upgrades and have wanted a strut tower brace for a long time, but I want the "flat" type because I have a detailng idea I want to pursue. Anyone know a source?

I heard strut bars really dont help that much, unless you have a very stiff suspension.

I heard they do

Probably the Racing Dynamics one you are thinking of. I have one on my 86na - don't really like it. I had to backdate the brake reservoir and bend the AC lines for it to fit. The middle rubs on the stregth bar down the centre of the hood. Also, it only uses 2 of the 4 strut mount bolts. Better stuff out there.

Skip, Good info, but out of curiosity, who sells them? There's no "Racingdynamics.com" I tried it!

Incidentally, whose does Paragon sell?

We sell KLA, Brey Krause and Weltmeister (use search term "944 strut brace").

The Racing Dynamics brace is still available, I think, and we can get it. Last I know price was approx $250. KLA is $130, BK is $260, Welt is $200

I've got one of those RD bars that I took off my NA when I sold it - I didn't have any of the rubbing or fitment issues. Anyways, if you're interested Dan, it's for sale.

Racing Dynamics is at www.racdyn-usa.com/ and they sell through www.electrodyne.cc

I had the Brey-Krause bar on my last car and I found it to be gorgeous!

Truthfully, I don't believe much in STB's. (Strut tower braces).

If you want to improve the handling of your car, you are far better off going with a beefier rear sway bar.

Just my $0.42,
-Z-man.

PS: I know I've said this many times before - sorry if it is getting old!

Sam, looks like you have an early car (83-85.1) which they will fit with no problems. The later cars (85.5+) require the older fluid reservoir and some bending of the AC lines to move the recharge nipple out of the way. Dan has an 87 and would have to make these modifications, AFAIK.

Skip, it is odd that you mention that. Mine fits fine with the exception of the rubbing on the hood problem.

The turbo brace has a slightly different shape than the NA bar. Your turbo brace didn't rub on my NA either. I think it is because the high point isn't in the center, but slightly offset.

I take it all back, my apologies.

If you have the brace configured like it was in the TurboCup cars, it would definitely help.
