Default 89- gauges

Hi. The car has been running well but a few issues came up.
Now the temperature gauge stays at minimum and the oil pressure gauge stays at maximum. The voltmeter reads low and the fuel level reads fine.
I checked the alternator output is perfect, and replaced the temperature sensor and cleaned the engine and chassis grounds. Including the ones under the dash. I also cleaned the connector for the instrument cluster. They all worked fine for a while then intermittently got worst.
Any suggestions?

You can search for the usual stuff about the oil pressure gauge. Or check clarks-garge.

re: The temp gauge is the coolant getting hot? Heat work? System full and bled of air?

Hi. I've checked Clarke's Garage and followed the diagnostic instructions.
The cooling system is full and bleed. Fans come on and off at the right time.
What's weird is that it all worked before.
The oil pressure would peg at start then come down as the oil warmed up. Now it stays pegged which indicates it's a electrical issue

Do you have test results to share or are you just going to replace the sensors?

Any chance you've swapped the leads on the sensors? That would serve to peg the needles.

Good luck

You didnt check closely enough:
https://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/lube-03.htm

There are several things that may indicate a problem with the oil pressure indication. If your oil pressure is pegged high (5 bar) or won't indicate less than 4 bar at normal operating temperature, there is likely a problem with the oil pressure sending unit.
