How BIG is to BIG?
Just got a 1988 924 S. Has the stock 195's on the 15 inch phone dials. I hear I can go to 215's but they might rub. Is this true? Or should I go to the traditional 205 upgrade?
I am wondering what you all run for tires. Looking for some good street tires that won't break the bank. I have bridgestone S-03's on my 911 and love them, any other suggestions?
Thanks and best wishes - Jay Gratton

Now there must be some serious tire rubbing going on in there! Thanks for the picture. The guys in the office found it wild. Best wishes - Jay Gratton

It is routine to fit 225/50's to 15x7 phone dials on 924S 944 spec cars. Depending on the camber it can be tigth in front. Rear is breeze.
A few 924S street guys run 225 rears and 205 fronts to clear the springs.
Not sure that a 215/60 R15 will work however. Since the 225/50 is wider, but it is also shorter too it may fits, but the 215/60 may not.
I have Yoko ES100's on my 83 and my Turbo S. Good tire are good price. Not as good as the SO3 , but much cheaper.

The front is the only issue. I run 225/50 16 on the rear with no clearance issues at all, but I starting to think if I went any wider than 205/55 on the front with stock spring diameter I will see rubbing. Besides that, it is a lot of rubber to role around.
